The breast and its importance in our society

The female breast has had since the beginning of mankind a special place in the mind of the human beings. To men and women alike, the breast has been an object of cult, an item to be cherished and venerated. Many strings of science have tried to explain this. From a biological point of view, it may be argued that the breast has a determined imprint in our DNA, and not only ours, namely, humans. To every mammal the breast has a significant importance, since it is the source of nourishment, when the puppy is most unprotected.

Also, from a biological point of view, the design of the mammary gland is perfect. The adipose tissue surrounds the alveolar gland, which is in fact a group of alveolar glands, all of which have a duct that leads to the nipple.

To psychiatry and psychoanalysis, the breast is almost the most important object in the human mind, and in fact, the infant’s relation to the breast is what will determine the way he or she relates to the whole world in the future. The breast, to psychology, is the mother, and all that the motherly figure implies: nourishment, affection, love.

The culture and the media have paid a special attention to the breast, since the first manifestations of graphic evidence. In the constitution of the subject, the way the girl regards her breasts in comparison to her mates determines the way she will stand up in life: either with an inferiority complex, or with a sense of self satisfaction and assurance.
